The first bikini was designed by Louis Réard, a French engineer and fashion designer. He created a revolutionary swimsuit in the form of two triangular pieces of fabric connected with straps and a bra. Sam Réard promoted his costume with the slogan: "smaller than the smallest in the world" and he has to give him credit that in the context of swimwear he was telling the truth.
